Burgundy’s Jazz Giants

The swingin’ sounds of Jazz Manouche, or Gypsy jazz, as you may also know it, have been making crowds tap their feet to the beat since the 1930s when legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt infused jazz with his own European twist. Almost a century later, it’s the turn of Burgundy locals Swing Folie to lift our hearts and get us swirling and twirling on the dancefloor. It would make Django proud.
Using just two guitars, a double bass and an accordion as their musical weapons of choice, Swing Folie’s David Foucard, Eric Bijon, Pierre Inza, Nicolas Minard set their rhythms to stun and get the party in to a full swing with their sweet harmonies and upbeat tempos. With original and traditional arrangements of iconic jazz standards, from Gainsbourg, Brassens, Montand, Ketty, Django, of course, and several others, Swing Folie bring new color and shape to classic European jazz, as displayed on their most recent record, 2 Mots, 3 Intentions.
